PACLA Aims

To advocate on behalf of authors’ best interests concerning domestic and international publishing issues.

To meet regularly to discuss important industry issues and the latest developments in areas such as contracts, royalties and digital publishing.

To provide a strong voice for representing the views of members and their authors in discussion of matters of common interest with other professional bodies, the media industry, the public and the government.

To maintain a code of professional practice to which all members of the Association shall commit themselves (see Code of Practice principles).

To provide support and mentorship for professional literary agents in Canada.

To maintain close working relationships with other professional organizations within the publishing community.
