  • To advocate on behalf of authors’ best interests concerning domestic and international publishing issues.

  • To meet regularly to discuss important industry issues and the latest developments in areas such as contracts, royalties and digital publishing.

  • To provide a strong voice for representing the views of members and their authors in discussion of matters of common interest with other professional bodies, the media industry, the public and the government.

  • To maintain a code of professional practice to which all members of the Association shall commit themselves (see Code of Practice principles).

  • To provide support and mentorship for professional literary agents in Canada.

  • To maintain close working relationships with other professional organizations within the publishing community.
